sweat shop

I am so sorry for the lapse between postings and wait on the new threads. It turns out my one woman sweat shop is not crankin out the fall looks like I had hoped it might. So, sad as it may be I am going to have to do a gradual, small release this fall/winter season. I'll keep you all up to date on what is coming out and when. I promise to be back very soon with a link to a slideshow from the runway photos. Thanks for the continued support!

Ruby Room show

The Ruby Room show at the paramount was a huge success!! Man, I definitely need to thank  lots of people for all of the help and support needed to make it happen. So in no particular order- Annalee, Kate, Paul, Mrs. Belle Cozette, Mae, Mary Mack, Theresa, Daisy, Cameron, Alexis, Sara, Derrick, Melanie and Beth; you guys are amazing and I loved sharing this crazy experience with you.

Well, Let's move along to less sappy subjects.  The Event raised over $18,000 for the Ruby Room charity, which is a record for them! I promise that as soon as I get them, I will put up a link to the professional pictures. As of now, all I have is some that I took so here are a few to tide you over.

Only Four days until the big show!

Wow, Time really fly's when you are busy. Only four more days until the Ruby Room fashion show! The prom dresses are ready and the Fall line is coming along, especially thanks to a trip down to the Fabric Depot in Portland. While I am keeping the Fall clothing a surprise, I do want to give a sneak peak of the gowns and vest done exclusively in re-purposed taffeta. These will be up for auction Saturday night with all proceeds benefiting the Ruby Room, a non-profit that you can feel good about supporting and even write off of your taxes!

Bring and Brag

Last night I was super honored to participate in an event put on by Velocity art and design, which incidentally is the coolest home store ever. They do a monthly event called The Lab that is for people to learn about art, network and get inspired. The theme of this one was somewhat design focused and a lot like show and tell. Can I just say, their are some amazing people here in Seattle doing some really cool stuff. If you don't believe me, the podcast will be up soon and you can listen and check out some of their websites and stuff. You will also here me ramble about starting Lucky Find and say some really cheesy stuff that you only say when you are doing nervous public speaking stuff. Anyway, it was really fun and you should check it out when you get a chance. The website is http://thelab.velocityartanddesign.com/

Before the De-construction

Here's a little sample of the gem's that I am working on for the Ruby Room show. Obviously these are the before pics and I'll try to keep up with pictures of the dresses as they are finished. But fancy stuff, huh? Suprisingly, a lot less bows than the dresses I got last year.

Hurray and Welcome

After some crazy trial and error I finally have some interweb presence, Yahoo! So much to tell you about.

First off, while I am crazy busy working on fabulous clothes for Fall, their are still some super cute spring/summer items available at Velouria. You should act fast because those materials are long gone, and very pretty if I do say so myself.

Currently I am working hard on both my fall line and on the Ruby Room "Fashion Faux Pas to Fashion Fabulous" show, where I am showing great new fall clothes as well as gowns made from used prom dresses. All prom-gowns will be auctioned off to benefit
the Ruby Room. It will take place Saturday September 6th in the lobby of the Paramount. You can find tickets at www.rubyroomseattle.org. It will be my second year doing it and it is super fun. the pic is one of my favorite dresses from last year.
